This is our year of possession, it is your time to possess your inheritance, and the source of possession is God. Genesis 1:26: “God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
When we speak about God, we need to understand that from the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. If you are of the earth, it means you belong to God. God said, “Let us make man in our image and likeness,” meaning that we, as human beings, are the image and likeness of God and not apes. The devil succeeded in making people think they are unworthy to be called children of God. You are the image and likeness of God, and He created you for a special purpose.
What is God’s idea?
- God had the idea to create man, so you are God’s idea and not the idea of your father or mother. The purpose of God’s idea of creating man is so that the man could rule. Rule over what? Over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the animals, the earth, and everything that moves on the earth. Everything that moves in this world has been commanded to be ruled by you. This means trees, plants, animals, air, rain, rivers, seas, and anything else are commanded to be ruled by you. Therefore, you are a ruler. You need to understand yourself to possess what your Heavenly Father intended for you to possess. Demons and all powers of darkness are commanded to be ruled by you, and even the devil too, because he is defeated in this world.
Before the devil rebelled, he was an angel ruling over this earth and everything in it. But after he rebelled, God convened a meeting with the heavenly hosts and said, “Let us make man in our image and put him here on earth so he can rule over what the devil (Lucifer) lost.” Then God created the heavens and the earth so that the man He would make could have something to do.
Proverbs 8:30: “Then I was beside him, like a master workman, and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always.”
God created man in three aspects: body, spirit, and soul. The soul must resemble God. Why God? Because God is the ruler of heaven and earth, so the person created by God must have the mind to rule over the world.
Why those three areas?
- The spirit, so we can communicate with God,
- The soul, so we can resemble God,
- The body, so we can use it to rule, because without a mind, you cannot command anything and expect it to happen. You cannot rule the world by speaking in tongues but by using your mind. That’s when you can rule the world. To possess, you need intelligence.
Leviticus 20:26: “And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.”
This means that after sin, there were people whom God chose to be His, and you who accepted salvation are among them, so do not see yourself as weak. God has set you apart among many, and that is why you worship Him.
How many people are in the world who are unsaved, but you have been chosen to worship God? When you walk, do not be afraid. You have been chosen by the Lord.
