Year of Possession

What is worship?

Worship is the state of dedicating yourself to the Lord through your words, actions, and thoughts. Everything you do, say, and think should reflect God—that is worship. Why do we come to church? We come to show God our worship, to declare who we are to Him. When we reveal who we are to Him, we manifest our worship to Him.

We complete our worship by gathering together before Him and showing that we belong to Him. He says He seeks such people to worship Him. People like this worship even before they come to church. Worshippers are a community of people whose thoughts, words, and actions align. It is not saying one thing, thinking another, and acting differently, then claiming to be a worshipper. If you do that, then you are not a true worshipper. Why? Because there is no truth in you. Truth is embedded in a worshipper, and that is why God seeks such people. Worship is the state of allowing your thoughts, words, and actions to align. When these three are unified, they cannot deviate from God, because God’s character, thoughts, actions, and words align as well. A person who reflects this character is fit for worship, which is why God seeks such people to worship Him.

Why does God seek such people? Because these people are willing to die for what they understand. God seeks these people, and once He finds them, He brings them into His tent so that they may worship Him. People whose thoughts, words, and actions cannot align are not fit for worship. The community of true worshippers is very small, and that is why they thrive.

In John 4:23-24, it says, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” Some people seek God to find Him, but there are others whom God seeks to worship Him. So, where do you stand?

What is a worshipper like?
– A true worshipper is not possessed by demons, nor do they get saved to be delivered from evil spirits.
– Worshippers are calm, they are not drawn by what is present or what they see, and they do not act or speak carelessly.
– A worshipper knows their identity and cannot be swayed by circumstances.
– A person of worship constantly refers to the Word of God to understand what it says about their life.
– A worshipper is unwavering.
– A person of worship marks every significant action; they do not forget an event.
– A worshipper does not forget the source and foundation of their life.
– A true worshipper does not stop gathering others to worship as well.
– Worshippers are bearers of the gospel wherever they are, always ready to testify about what Jesus has done in their lives.

It’s not just about going to church, but what have you understood? It’s not just about being a pastor or bishop, but have you understood? The true worshipper’s desire is to be with God because they know that once they have Him, they have won.

What do you need to possess? Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Seek first the kingdom of God. People like to possess cars, houses, and everything else, but they forget to possess the most important thing. The most important possession is not material things but the kingdom of God first. God created you in His image; you are a copy of God on earth. God is the King of kings, and He created us to rule, but we lost our dominion on earth through sin. God then set a plan to restore what was lost. Genesis 3:15 says, “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”

Naturally, a woman cannot bear a child without a man, but here we see that God made a declaration that through the child born of a woman, restoration would come. If you want to possess anything, first possess the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and then everything else will be added to you. When you possess the kingdom and His righteousness, other things will follow you without you even struggling. When you seek the kingdom of God, you cannot die in poverty.

How can we obtain the Kingdom of God?
Faith is the power that works. Matthew 11:12 says, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” This means that we take the kingdom of God by force. What is this force? The Bible says, “Faith is the active power that a believer depends on.” We take the kingdom of God by force, which means what? Mark 9:23 says, “Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Everything is possible; nothing is impossible. If you want to get married, no man can reject you, but they will come because there is power within you. Faith is something you can see and touch, which is why we say, “Faith is the power that works.”

Mark 2:5 says, “When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, ‘Son, your sins are forgiven.’” Faith can be seen. Can you see your faith? Luke 5:20 says, “When He saw their faith, He said to him, ‘Man, your sins are forgiven you.’” Through faith, your sins can be forgiven. Faith can set you free. You cannot fight people with faith because they will overpower you. Faith has the power to destroy anything, to attract anything you desire, and bring it to you. Faith changes a person’s life because it is the power that works.
