APOSTLE AND PROPHET JOSEPHAT ELIAS MWINGIRA
John 14:6-7 – “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.'”
If you have the truth, you will speak the truth, and if you do not have the truth, you cannot speak it. Therefore, if your mind is filled with the truth, you will speak the truth; you cannot speak what you do not have. If you want to speak the truth, you must work according to the truth.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life,” which means there is no life without the truth, because the truth is God. Truth brings life, and that must be engraved in your mind. Those who have the truth cannot go astray, for truth is God, and when they speak the truth, it means they have God within them. Without God in your mind, you cannot speak the truth—you will speak lies. You may claim to love God, but your actions may not reflect that love.
You cannot go astray if you have the truth.
Isaiah 35:8-10 – “And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it. No lion will be there, nor any ravenous beast; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there…”
If you have the truth in your heart, you will be holy, and in the way of holiness, there is no getting lost, because you carry the truth. That is why the Bible says, “The truth will set you free.”
When you have the truth, it will set you free, and you will never be sorrowful, but you will always have joy. The following are important for you to remain in holiness:
- Learn to remain in your calling.
- Learn to act in the right way.
- Guard or protect your position—if you are a singer, don’t desire to be in another role. If you are a wife, remain in your place, do not desire to be a man, for it will never happen. Be yourself; stay in your place, and that’s how you will be able to maintain your holiness.
- Own your inheritance—be content with what God has given you. You don’t need to complain. Remain in your place so God can bless you with good things.
- Live a life of faith:
- Learn to live a life of repentance and forgiveness.
- Live a life of obedience to God in your everyday life.
John 14:21 – “Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”
John 17:17 – “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.”
Truth is the Word of God, and your mind must be filled with the Word. You cannot preach the true Word if you do not have the Word of God within you. Only when your mind is full of the Word can you speak the truth. If your mind has not received the truth, you cannot speak it.
In speaking the truth, there is:
- The sanctification of your mind.
John 8:31-32 – “To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, ‘If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.'”- Only when your mind has received the truth will you be free; otherwise, you will never be free.
- You must be a disciple of Jesus, living a life of learning because the truth will set you free.
What are the benefits of having the truth?
a. Romans 8:1-2 – “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”
If your mind has the truth within it, the bond that has held your mind captive will be loosed, and you will be free.
What is truth?
- It is knowing what is wrong and what is right. When you gain that understanding, you have the mind of God, and as a result, you are free from God’s judgment.
b. You will be free from God’s judgment. Psalm 32:1-2 – “Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit.”
c. You will live a life of faith in God, just as in Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” You will never lose anything but will always gain, and whatever you do will prosper.
d. Those who have the truth of God are empowered by God’s armor because they carry the truth within them.
Ephesians 6:17-18 – “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God…”
When you have the truth, it helps you to know how to do things, for where there is truth, there is wisdom. Wisdom is tied to truth, and when you are filled with wisdom, you have the truth.
