Receiving a Promise

Receiving a Promise

Steps to physically attaining ownership:

  1. The first step for Abraham was receiving a son. What did Abraham do while waiting for God’s blessing? We see the generosity and loving heart he had, which led him to receive the answer he desired. Genesis 18:1-10 describes the moment when three visitors came to Abraham, and through his hospitality, he received a promise from God:
“Then one of them said, ‘I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son.’ Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him.”

There is a strong relationship between the blessings you are meant to receive and a heart filled with love and generosity.

Many people close off their destinies, not because they do not pray—no! They pray. Not because they do not fast—no! They fast. The problem lies in recognizing the appointed time for their blessing. You might encounter someone and ignore them, but that person may hold the key to your destiny. The Bible says, “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing, some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.” You may not realize the people around you carry something meant for you, so be generous to everyone.

When God is taking you to your intended destination, there are people placed specifically to carry your burden and take you to where God has destined. As a child of God, be generous to everyone, for you do not know who carries what for you.

You may look down on someone in one way or another, but the damage that can result from this attitude might be severe.

As you move towards your inheritance, it is essential to pay attention to your character. The time of your blessing might come without you realizing it, and a poor attitude could hinder your progress.
