Opening Word

Opening Word

It is another year that the Lord has granted us to be in this place (in the 2024 Annual Gathering), not by our strength or cleverness, because there are those who wished to be here but were not able. Know that there is a God who loves you and thinks good thoughts toward you. He has planned good for you, and for that, you should give thanks.

Psalm 27:1-4:
“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident. One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.”

There is nothing better than dwelling in the presence of the Lord. When you sit and meditate on the beauty of the Lord in His presence, those things that used to trouble and oppress you will no longer be a part of your life.

In this place, you will be filled with the strength of the Lord and be renewed. No matter how much sadness you have experienced, you will leave this place with peace and joy because you have chosen to dwell in the presence of the Lord and to meditate on His beauty. You will not remain as you were; you will take what belongs to you.
