Standing in Our Position

Preacher: Apostle and Prophet Josephat Elias Mwingira

INTRODUCTIO

Beloved in the Lord, today we are learning about standing in our positions that God has given us.

Every human being was created with a unique position before God.
However, these positions are divided into three main stages:

  1. Our position before sin
  2. Our position after sin
  3. Our position after salvation
  1. OUR POSITION BEFORE SIN

Before the fall of Adam, man lived in the Garden of Eden under the perfect command of God.
God blessed Adam and Eve and gave them three main instructions:

Genesis 1:28

“God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

These were the key instructions given to mankind:

  • To be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth.
  • To subdue and have dominion.
  • To cultivate and take care of the land.

These were the three areas of blessing and even today, they remain the main purpose of mankind on earth.
But after sin, everything changed…

  1. OUR POSITION AFTERSIN

After sin, man lost the perfection and glory that he once had and began to live under God’s mercy.
Man became ashamed, withdrew from God’s presence, and needed divine help.

Before sin, man lived under three simple commands:

  • Soul
  • Spirit
  • Body

But after sin, life became difficult because man’s thoughts became evil.

Genesis 6:5

“The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.”

From that time, man needed many laws to return to God’s will.
Wickedness increased, and man desperately needed true salvation.

  1. STANDING IN THE POSITION OF SALVATION

Beloved, salvation begins with confession.
Without confession, God cannot open His divine mysteries to you.
Through confession, your spiritual eyes are opened to see God’s will for your life.

Before sin, man lived under the command of love that was under blessing.
After sin, man lived under God’s mercy.
But after salvation, we now live under the love of God.

Romans 10:9

“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Through confession, we receive two main things:

  1. The righteousness of God
  2. The salvation of Jesus Christ, which is the love of God

When you have the righteousness of God through faith and salvation through confession, you begin to live as a true child of God.
Your confession moves you from sin into the righteousness of God.

  1. THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD

Why do we need the righteousness of God?
Because within the love of God, there is righteousness and salvation.

Psalm 37:24

“Though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.”

A person who walks in God’s righteousness finds favor before God and man.

WHAT DOES GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS DO?

  • It enables you to do things correctly.
  • It brings wisdom, faithfulness, and faith.
  • It is the power to accomplish.
  • It brings acceptance both in heaven and on earth.
  • It guarantees lasting success.

Psalm 37:25

“I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.”

David knew this secret: the righteous are never abandoned.
The righteousness of God is the key to a good and graceful life.

  1. WHEN WE TAND IN OUR POSITIONS

When we stand in the righteousness of God, we receive:

  • Wisdom
  • Knowledge
  • Joy

Ecclesiastes 2:26

“To the person who pleases Him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and happiness, but to the sinner He gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God.”

Therefore, choose righteousness, for within it lies wisdom, knowledge, and joy all of which are found in the package of blessings that God gave to man from the beginning.

COCLUSION

Today the Lord is saying: “Stand in your position.”

Do not allow sin, fear, or doubt to remove you from your position of righteousness, blessing, and love.
Your salvation restores you to your original position a place of authority, dominion, and intimate relationship with God.

Stand in your position of righteousness.
Walk in the love of God.
Live with wisdom, knowledge, and joy.

For in doing so, the grace of God will continually rest upon your life.
